We are a group of people who care about the Adur SSSI and want it to be the best it can be, for wildlife and for humans. We represent the community of users of the Adur River between Cuckoo Corner and the footbridge in the centre of Shoreham: the area which forms the Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Our vision is to engage the community with the Adur SSSI and ensure everyone is informed of its value to wildlife and the local population. Above all, we aim to encourage responsible use of the SSSI so it is in the best of health to benefit future generations.
Our Friends are mainly members of the public, with the following organisations being part of our group:
Adur Canoe Club
Shoreham and District Ornithological Society
Angling Trust
Surfladle
Our Partners whom we work alongside:
Adur River Recovery Project https://www.adur-river-recovery.org/
Natural England
